British Airlines
A selection of Biritsh carriers, with emphasis upon budget airlines although all major carriers are included. It should be noted that all national carriers (including British airlines) accross Europe operate multiple services connecting major cities.
Air 2000
Air2000 is a charter airline based in the UK, flying mostly for the First Choice Group (a leading European leisure travel company). The British airlines flies from Gatwick and Manchester to 46 destinations in the Balearics, the Canaries, Spain and Portugal. It also offers a winter programme to Lapland.
Air Scotland
Scheduled services with this branded British airlines began in March 2003 with a network of flights from Glasgow to Barcelona, Palma and Tenerife; from Edinburgh to Barcelona, Palma, Alicante, Malaga and Fuerteventura as well as newly announced flights from Aberdeen to Barcelona and other destinations. Flights from Glasgow to Athens commenced in June. Current special offers start at £19 excluding tax.
Air Southwest
A regional British airlines connecting Plymouth and Newquay with London Gatwick, Bristol and Manchester. In May, the Devon-based airline teamed up with the Channel Islands Travel Service to offer a weekly service to the islands, which will operate until 18 September.
Air Wales - Has ceased all passenger operations
Air Wales, Wales' only airline was established in 1999. Air Wales operates services from Swansea Airport to Amsterdam, Cardiff, Dublin, Jersey and London City and from Cardiff Airport to Amsterdam, Dublin, Jersey, London City, Newcastle, Plymouth and Swansea. The British airlines offers a flat fare on all routes and is offering £99 return fares on its flights to Dublin, Jersey, London City and Amsterdam. Children's seats (for those aged two-11) are priced at £49.50 while children under two years fly for free.
BMI
British Midland is the UK's second-largest full-service British airlines and a member of Star Alliance. Its main operational base is at Heathrow. The airline flies 2,298 flights a week to Europe and America, and also provides low-cost regional flights within the UK (Aberdeen, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Jersey, Leeds Bradford, London Heathrow, Manchester, Norwich, Nottingham East Midlands, Stornoway, Teesside ). This British airlines destinations served include Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, the Republic of Ireland, Spain, USA, Canada and the Caribbean (Barbados from 26/11/04, Antigua from 27/11/04 and St Lucia from 01/12/04).
Bmibaby
The low-cost offshoot of BMI British Midland is based at Nottingham East Midlands airport. Since the launch of services in May 2003, the British airlines has more than doubled the number of routes on offer from six to 13. New routes for this Summer depart to Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Bordeaux, Ibiza, Jersey and Knock (Connaught). These complement the British airlines existing services to Alicante, Barcelona, Belfast (International), Malaga, Murcia, Cork, Palma and Prague. Fares start at £19.99 one-way, including taxes and charges.
British Airways
Although not a low-cost airline, British Airways reguarly offers fares that can only be described as "budget". BA is the UK's largest international scheduled British airlines with an extensive global route network of more than 550 destinations.
Monarch
Monarch provides low-cost scheduled flights from Manchester and London Luton airports from London and Manchester to Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar.
Thomsonfly
Thomsonfly is a trading name of Britannia Airways Limited ("Britannia"). Britannia is part of the world of TUI, one of the largest travel and tourism businesses in the world. The British airlines flies from Coventry to 11 cities in Spain, Italy, Jersey and the Cote d'Azur in France. Coventry Airport is 26 miles from Birmingham City Centre, 27 miles from Leicester and offers easy access to the Midlands.
