EVA Airlines
Like a majestic bird, the Evergreen Group has taken flight. It stepped from the seas to land. Then, with EVA Airlines as the embodiment of the best of this great transportation heritage, it soared into the wide-open skies. The Evergreen Group steadily transformed itself as a transportation giant on the world stage. From the wellspring of its Taiwanese heritage, it built on strengths of its culture and created "EVA Airlines - the Wings of Taiwan".
Increasing Revenues
EVA Airlines has strategically constructed a global service network using Chiang Kai-Shek International Airport in Taipei as a transportation hub, and has established an impressive track record. Capitalization has increased from NT$2.5 billion to NT$20 billion. Revenue grew significantly to NT$38.6 billion in 1997, and to an even more outstanding NT42.9 billion in 1998. In 1999, revenue is expected to increase to NT$48 billion.
Strategic Relationships
We have strengthened our competitive position globally through what the industry recognizes as code-sharing relationships. EVA Airlines has formed international alliances with Air Nippon Airways, American Airlines Continental Airlines, American West, Qantas Airways, Air New Zealand, British Airways, Lufthansa Cargo and Air Canada.
In the domestic market, EVA Airlines has successfully created a solid base for international services. As a vigorous proponent of high quality and uniform standards, we championed the merging of Great China Airlines and Taiwan Airways within the UNI Air umbrella.
To ensure smooth ongoing operations, reduce costs and upgrade service quality even further, EVA Airlines invested capital and expertise in airline-related industries, including Evergreen Sky Catering Corporation, Evergreen Airline Services Corporation, Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corporation, and other subsidiaries in the industry such as a cargo terminal.
Safety Considerations
EVA Airlines promotes flight safety through comprehensive controls and risk management considerations at every level of our organization. We are vigilant in the use of technologically advanced flight analysis equipment such as Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) and Aircraft Communications Addressing & Reporting System (ACARS) for monitoring every aircraft situation, engine condition and flight performance.
After collecting this data, we use it as an index to project flight risk management and promotes overall flight safety. Our result shows excellent flight safety quality and effective management.
