Japan Airlines
Japan Airlines System Corporation was established to oversee the merger of Japan Airlines, the country's largest international airline and Japan Air Systems, a major Japan domestic carrier. The merger, scheduled to be completed by April 1, 2004, makes the new JAL Group Asia's largest, offering service to 172 destinations (59 in Japan) in 30 countries.
With the merger also came a new logo and aircraft design, with the first new livery taking to the skies in November 2002. The fleet now consists of 287 aircraft with 16 types including the world's largest fleet of B747's.
