Vietnam Airlines
Vietnam Airlines has a fleet of up to 31 aircraft: 11 Boeings, 10 Airbus, 2 Fokker 70s, and 8 ATR 72s. After receiving its first Boeing 777-200 in April 2003, the fleet continues to expand. In 2002, Vietnam Airlines carried some four million passengers and 60,000 tons of cargo.
With 24 branch offices and thousands agents worldwide, Vietnam Airlines is an increasingly convenient option for travel to and from Asia. And, as of September 1999 when Vietnam Airlines was licensed as a tour operator, you can count on us to arrange all your travel needs in Vietnam.
To make flying Vietnam Airlines even more convenient, we have entered into a partnership with other international airlines around the world, signing co-operative agreements including joint services, revenue pooling and interline traffic.
As business and investment in Vietnam increases, we expect to see passenger and cargo volume continue to rise for both domestic and international flights. In particular, traffic between Vietnam and other Asian countries is an area of strong growth. Vietnam's population of 78 million, whose living standards are rising, is a key demographic factor, and the two million-strong community of overseas Vietnamese offers further potential for new routes.
It is our goal to build a modern airline with a reputation for reliability and service. At the top of our priorities is the preservation of our identity, which reflects the hospitality and warmth of the people of Vietnam. In the new millennium, Vietnam Airlines looks forward to establishing itself as a truly world class carrier.
